Sharing my thoughts in this corner of the web.
Might be uninteresting.
A question that I ask my wife the other day became a realization on a guy’s (me) hobby.
The question was on why does women-targeted products has a higher cost than the mens? Especially their cosmetics and bags, and that is when it hit me that my hobbies cost a lot more than her material needs and wants. At the same time, the missus also list out all of my hobbies, from football to PC to cameras.
Currently, I have four football boots (cleats for those who use lbs) which I really only need two, an ITX-sized PC that I rarely use nowadays, and my currently newest and costly hobby - photography. For those uninitiated, an ITX is a small form factor computers which cost more to built than your average-sized PC.
In the previous post I wrote on how I miss having a camera and to go out on a shoot. I bought one immediately and a second body the next day, huh. I was searching for a small and portable camera and was eyeing a Ricoh GRIII but the price of that thing skyrocketed around 30% compare to 6 months ago. That’s where I found a cheap Lumix GX1 online but I am still waiting for it to arrived as I bought it from a Japan store. Estimated date of delivery is in 10 days.
That’s when I found a Lumix GX8 on Facebook marketplace, and I offered the seller a price lower than the price of the GX1 I just bought, on which he accepted. I drove down 30 minutes to the seller’s place the next day, and picked up the GX1 which to my surprised looks like new.
Now, waiting for my 20mm lens I ordered online the other day and hopefully it will arrived before our little trip to the beach this weekend.
This post really summarized my poor spending habits.
Side note: I had a MFT camera before, a Lumix GX80. Now, I got a camera that is smaller and larger.
